Research question: What wishes and needs do students have in relation to digital learning environments, especially with regard to independent courses?

About: This research was conducted for the digital development team of LAB School of Apllied sciences. The goal of the research is to find out the needs and wishes of students in relation to digital learning environments and to give recommendations on what should be taken into account in the design of digital learning environments in order to achieve a good learning experience.

Project timeline

Week 1

  • Defining the research question and choosing the research methods

  • Creating a survey and testing it with a prototype

  • Adapting the questions based on the testing results

Week 2

  • Publishing the survey

  • Created the interview framework and question set

  • Analyzing the results from autoethnografic research

Week 3

  • Analyzing the survey results

  • Conducting six thematic interviews

  • Analyzing the interview material

  • Combining the survey and interview results into a comprehensive analysis

  • Synthesizing findings into a user persona, design drivers, and actionable insights

  • Presenting findings and insights to the digital learning team

  • All data and insights were brought together in the final report
