Concept
Assignment
The project was created for Forge Digital Oy, a technology agency specializing in industrial digitalization.
Scenario
Designing for Terrabuild, a pan-European manufacturer of heavy machinery, the project required a cohesive ecosystem of interfaces to bridge the gap between global oversight and floor-level operations.
To achieve this, we delivered two data-driven dashboards, a specialized factory cell HMI, and a token-based design system to unify the user experience across the entire production chain.
My Role
As the project lead, I steered a team of four designers through a 12-week iteration cycle focusing on maintaining consistency through the three different interfaces.
Key Responsibilities:
Developed the project’s Token-Based Design System, ensuring a unified and consistent product was delivered to the client.
Solely responsible for the UX/UI of the factory cell interface, prioritizing modularity and reducing cognitive load.
Facilitated weekly team meetings, managed the project’s Kanban workflow, and implemented design changes based on client feedback throughout the project.
Design System
In the token-based design system both the dashboards and the HMI are based on the same primitives. The tokens are separated into two groups because of the different recquirements between the interfaces. Per example the HMI uses higher contrast colours and in general a wider range of colours and styles.
