Assignment
Assignment for the project was to design a set of three user interfaces and a design system for a manufacturing company.
The project was created for Forge Digital Oy, a technology agency specializing in industrial digitalization.
Scenario
Terrabuild is a company designing, manufacturing, and selling compact loaders and excavetors. They have three factories which each produce three products in three production lines. Terrabuild’s retail network is Europe-wide.
Assignment is to design two dashboards, one for global and one for site level, and one HMI for a factory cell. The dashboards are designed for desktop and the HMI for tablet.
Personal responsibilities
My responsibility during this project was to create the design system, design the HMI and contribute it’s assets to the design system.
As the team leader my responsibilities also included overseeing the team’s progress during the project, communicating with the client, and facilitating team meetings.
Design System
In the token-based design system both the dashboards and the HMI are based on the same primitives. The tokens are separated into two groups because of the different recquirements between the interfaces. Per example the HMI uses higher contrast colours and in general a wider range of colours and styles.
